February has come and gone in just a blink of an eye. It was a short month so I only got to read 3 books, then again I always read between 3 to 4 books a month.
- Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney: Amber has woken up in a hospital. She can’t move nor open up her eyes, but she can hear everything else that is happening around her. She believes her husband has something to do with why she is there. The story takes you between the past, then, and present. This is a psychological thriller that takes you on a ride. (📚 📚 📚 /5)
- The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros: In a collection of short stories, you follow a young Latina girl growing up in Chicago and writing about family and the people are around her, which follows to what she will become. (📚 📚 📚 📚 📚/5)
- Barracoon: The Story of the Last “Black Cargo” by Zora Neale Hurston: Follows the story of Cudjo, a man that was taken from his country, Africa, and brought to America in the last “Black Cargo” ship. In 1927, Hurston went to Plateau, Alabama to interview Cudjo about his life before coming to America, the journey on the trip to America, his life as a slave and then his life after he was freed. TV Show Update:
I am up to Season 7 and final season of Scandal. This show lost its purpose after Olivia was rescued. This season is not interesting and I started losing interest in Season 4, which reminded me why I stopped watching. I am almost done and at this point, I just want to see how the show ends.
